Georgia taxpayers may receive an additional refund this year due to the state’s budget surplus. This payment is separate from your normal Georgia tax refund and will be issued by the Georgia Department of Revenue to eligible taxpayers.
Eligible taxpayers may receive:

Up to $250 for Single filers
Up to $375 for Head of Household filers
Up to $500 for Married Filing Jointly filers
*Refund amounts are based on your individual Georgia tax liability. Taxpayers may receive less than the maximum amount depending on their specific tax situation.
To qualify, taxpayers generally must have filed their Georgia income tax returns and had a Georgia tax liability for the applicable year. Some refunds may be reduced due to offsets, balances owed, or other state requirements.
If direct deposit information is on file with the Georgia Department of Revenue, payments are typically sent through direct deposit first. Otherwise, a paper check may be mailed.
No separate application is required for most taxpayers. Eligibility is generally determined automatically based on your filed return.
